this issue concluded Grant Morrison’s run as writer for Animal Man but the series continued. Peter Milligan (Shade, the Changing Man) picked it up and wrote the next 24 issues. Later it was picked up by Jamie Delano and as of issue 57 it was moved to DC’s then new “mature readers” imprint, Vertigo ’til its end with issue 89.
